Job Description:

•         Responsible for all purchasing activities related to new program launches and engineering changes

•         Ensure cost, quality, and timing targets are met while supporting APQP milestones and customer program requirements

•         Work cross-functionally with Program Management, Engineering, Sales, Quality and suppliers

•         Program / Launch Purchasing: Lead sourcing activities for new programs and product launches, Prepare/ request/ analyze/ negotiate supplier quotations (RFQ process), Select suppliers in alignment with project targets (cost, quality, timing), Support make-or-buy decisions, Ensure sourcing aligned with customer nomination timing, Prepare necessary documents like NDA/ LOI/ NL

•         Cost Management: Achieve program cost targets (piece price + tooling), Conduct cost breakdown analysis and benchmarking, Track savings vs. budget, Support VA/VE and cost reduction initiatives

•         Supplier Management: Identify and nominate suppliers for new programs, Coordinate supplier APQP activities, Track supplier timing (tooling, PPAP, SOP readiness), Escalate supplier risks impacting launch, Resolve supplier and price issues (eg, tariffs, shipping/ transportation, supplier and location changes, bankruptcy)

•         Tooling & Capex Purchasing: Source tooling and capital equipment, Manage tooling budgets and approvals, Track tooling timing and supplier deliverables, Support tooling validation and PPAP readiness

•         Cross-functional coordination: Work with Engineering on specifications and changes, Support Program Management during launch reviews, Align with Quality on PPAP and supplier readiness, Support Sales during customer quotation phase, Align with commodity buyers in Europe and China on global sourcing activities

•         Management: Manage purchasing activities for engineering changes (ECR/ECO), Evaluate cost and timing impact, Negotiate supplier change costs

•         Support and attend in project specific customer and supplier workshops

•         Prepare Management presentations and regular reporting including related KPI's

•         Sourcing of indirect material (plant specific)

•         Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

•         Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent experience

•         3–8 years purchasing experience in automotive and/ or truck and off-highway (ToH) industry

•         Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier environment

•         New program launch experience required

•         Experience with APQP / PPAP processes preferred

•         Strong negotiation and analytical skills

•         Robust project management skills

•         Cost analysis / cost breakdown capability

•         Project management mindset

•         Ability to work in cross-functional teams

•         Supplier development experience

•         Strong Excel skills beside other MS Office programs

•         Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP)

•         Technical knowledge and experience required in IATF 16949 environment, Automotive OEM customer requirements, Tooling & injection molding / stamping / die casting / powder metallurgy / machining.

•         Willing to travel to supplier

Duties and Responsibilities: 

· Manage all commercial aspects of assigned customers or programs and identify new opportunities within existing customers

· Serve as primary commercial contact for assigned customers

· Collaborate and work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, and Program Teams to deliver solutions and resolve customer issues

· Conduct regular customer meetings and business reviews

· Monitor customer satisfaction and address issues

· Communicate customer requirements internally

· Support escalation management

· Manage Business Development by identifying new opportunities within existing customers, supporting acquisition of new programs, developing account growth strategy, tracking upcoming RFQs and sourcing opportunities, supporting new customer acquisition when required

· Support and analyze contracts and commercial agreements

· Maintain customer sales forecasts

· Support demand planning

· Track open commercial issues

· Assist with presentations and management reporting

· Manage the RFQ & quoting activities, such as receiving and reviewing and tracking RFQs and sourcing opportunities, coordinating costing with all relevant departments, preparing and analyzing cost breakdowns and pricing proposals, creating and submitting quotations, Smart Contracting, leading price negotiations with customers, tracking quote status and following up

· Providing Program Commercial Support, which includes supporting program launches, tracking program pricing and margins, managing engineering change requests (ECR/ECO), leading customer price updates and recoveries, supporting annual cost reduction discussions

· Conduct regular customer meetings and business reviews

· Traveling to customer locations for presentations and program meetings as required

· Keeping accurate records and reports with respect to sales and prospects

· Meeting sales targets

· Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Sales or related field; MBA is an asset

· 5-10+ years automotive industry experience

· Experience with Tier 1/ Tier 2 suppliers

· Key account management or sales experience

· Experience working with local and global OEM customers

· Experience with RFQ processes, costing and quoting

· Experience in small or mid-sized company is a plus

· Proficient in SAP in the related field is preferred

· Strong communication, commercial, negotiation and interpersonal skills

· Technical understanding of automotive products and knowledge of automotive development cycles and practices (APQP, SOP, change management)

· Program Management awareness including program commercial support

· Financial acumen (pricing, margins, cost structures)

· Ability to work in cross-functional teams

· Hands-on mindset

· Good computer skills (MS-Office, Internet, Outlook)

· Willingness to travel across North America
